| As many of you've seen, I opened a Facebook account today. The bf started his page earlier this week and he needed more friends. Poor guy, it's been a week and he's only got 10 friends. My first day and I've so far got 38. So to make him feel better, I told tell him that most of my friends are Asian, and Asian people are crazy about social online community stuff like Facebook. So the real test to see who has more friends is to count the white people. He's got 8. I got 5. He wins. | | |
| Those of you that knew me circa 1990 knew who my favorite band was. Anyone want to join me at the New Orleans Arena, Saturday, October 18th? Please don't go girl if you don't have the right stuff to be hangin' tough. Before you comment, I know, I'm a dork. | | |
| Can't believe I survived. Turned in my last final 10 minutes ago. I'm done with my first year of the Ph.D. program! What a relief to be done with classes. Now I'll spend my summer doing research, compiling data for the thesis. Does anyone have any 17-32 month old toddlers that I can use for research? (insert evil professor laugh) :) | | |
| I've been told that I've been neglecting my blog. I'm not a teacher anymore, so I don't have all those random funny kid stories to share anymore. Plus life as a graduate student has taken up a lot of my time. Anyway, some of you know I now do research with infants and toddlers. Here's an article about my advisor that may explain what I do better, since I don't really understand it all myself. But yeah, we study tool use in children, comparing it to adult development. And we're even working with another professor who studies tool use in chimps, and comparing our research. It's some neat stuff. But I do miss reading books by Dr. Seuss and Mother Goose.

| Rest in peace Harry Lee. You were a good sheriff to us in Jefferson Parish. You will be missed.
